Our story
Thirty years in the shop.
Opal & Ridge comes out of Precision Works, a cabinet and millwork shop in Indio, California that Pierre and Kathryn Letellier opened in 1997. For nearly thirty years the shop has built custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for homes, designers, and builders across Southern California, most of it work that never carried a brand name of its own.
That is the kind of work that teaches you what matters. A panel that stays flat in a house that hits 115 degrees in August. An edge that will not lift after ten years of hands on it. A hinge chosen because it is the one that keeps working. The shop learned those things one job at a time, over tens of thousands of them.
Ovation is the first piece Precision Works has put its own name behind. The second generation of the family started Opal & Ridge in 2026 to take what the shop already knew how to do and build furniture for homes where design is not negotiable. Same people on the floor. Same panels, same machines. A new reason to use them.
Every Ovation is cut, edged, and assembled in the same building on Indio Boulevard where the shop has always been. Pierre still walks the floor. The lift goes in and gets tested before anything is crated. If something is not right, it does not leave.
